We are clearing and grubbing contractors, installing compost filter sock, producing compost filter sock available on pallets and STA Certified compost.  We are WBE and DBE certified and a West Virginia Licensed Contractor.

We are trained Filtrexx™ Filter Soxx™ Installers. We install the compost filter sock for perimeter control; hassle free, in accordance with the project’s erosion control sequence.  Our Filtrex Soxx Installation team operates independently without assistance from our clients.  Using our loaders to fill the hoppers with our certified material, we keep the erosion control in sequence and the sock installation on schedule.

Our Compost is USDA Certified, 7CFR301.53 assuring organic content.  North Suburban Tree is a participating member of the US Composting Council.  Our material is STA Tested and Certified to meet the standards required to insure the Compost Filter Sock is achieving maximum performance.  North Suburban Tree is a PENN-DOT PRE-QUALIFIED SUBCONTRACTOR; our media meets Penn-Dot specifications, designed for removal of solids and soluble pollutants from storm water runoff.

North Suburban Tree offers two different styles of Filtrexx™ Filter Soxx™.   For standard sock installation, a 5 mil Polyethylene Filtrexx™ Filter Soxx™ is used.  To be compliant with some of the erosion control schedules, there may be a need relocate the sock after it’s been installed during, or prior to the clearing and grubbing operations.  Installing the stronger, more durable Filtrexx™ Safety Soxx™ is more cost efficient than having to re-install later.  We offer Safety Soxx™ to be used where runs of sock can, or will be relocated.  North Suburban Tree is capable of meeting the needs of every unique project: SiltSoxx™ InletSoxx™, DitchChexx™, Slope Interruption Soxx™, FilterRing™, Runoff Diversion Soxx™, Concrete Washout and House Wraps.

North Suburban Tree has designed and engineered the only remote controlled, high capacity, track mounted compost filter sock blower of its kind.  We are capable of installing sock on the most challenging of terrain, while achieving the highest safety benchmark with the lowest environmental impact.

North Suburban Tree business practice enhances the LEED Green Building initiative. We are dedicated to environmental improvements that foster a sustainable future and lead social and economical improvements in the communities where we do business. North Suburban Tree recycles all of our bi-products.

Based out of Pittsburgh Pa, North Suburban Tree Service is one of the largest filter sock providers serving Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia & Maryland.  We have installed compost filter sock in Marcellus and Utica shale sites, road projects, playgrounds, anywhere Erosion and Sediment Control is needed.  We would be pleased to provide you with a quote for future projects or to assist you with any projects that you may be involved with currently.   We also install tri-pods and filter sock stacks of sock in various sizes.   Please call for a price for your specific requirements.

Filtrexx™ SiltSoxx™ Applications

Filtrexx™ SiltSoxx™ are three-dimensional tubular sediment control and storm water runoff filtration device typically used for perimeter control of sediment and soluble pollutants on and around construction activities. Filtrexx™ SiltSoxx™ trap sediment and soluble pollutants by filtering runoff water as it passes through the matrix of the SiltSoxx™ and by allowing water to temporarily pond behind the SiltSoxx™, allowing deposition of suspended solids. SiltSoxx™ are also used to reduce runoff flow velocities on sloped surfaces.Filtrexx™ Standard Specifications and Design Manual Version 6.0
